Synthesis of Traditions and Innovations in Modern Easter Egg Decorating in Ukraine

Abstract

The article explores the features of the art of Ukrainian Easter eggs decorating at present stage.
It analyses the changes in traditional Easter eggs decorating and innovative techniques in egg
decoration. It is noted that the continuity of traditions influence positively the ethnic identity, impove
communication between generations, and encourage share in life experience.
Key words: pysanka (decorated with different patterns and colours egg), traditions, modernity,
driapanka (scratched egg), maliovanka (painted egg).
