Abstract

The article examines the influence of systematic teaching of composition on the formation of professional competence of sculptors and graphic designers under contemporary educational transformations and digital visual culture. It is substantiated that composition, as a fundamental structural discipline, ensures the development of spatial thinking, visual hierarchy, and the ability to create coherent artistic communication. The purpose of the study is to identify the relationship between the level of systematic composition training and the quality of professional competence formation in fine arts and design education. The methodology combines analysis of scientific sources, pedagogical observation, and visual analysis of student and professional works in leading Ukrainian higher art institutions. The results demonstrate that the reduction or fragmentation of composition courses leads to typical violations of compositional balance, rhythm, scale relations, and visual hierarchy, which significantly decreases the communicative effectiveness of artistic and design objects. The scientific novelty lies in developing a generalized model of dependence between professional competence and the level of systematic composition teaching. The conclusions confirm the necessity of restoring holistic composition education as the foundation of professional art training.
